REDCOR® steel will arrive a slightly silver, light grey colour. In some cases, it can look similar Galvabond® or SuperDyma®. To help distinguish between the three finishes, see the descriptions below.

• Galvabond® – Silver, distinct speckled design all over the edging
• SuperDyma® – silver, smooth finish, no speckles, similar finish to stainless Steel
• REDCOR® – Slightly silver appearance, light grey in colour, dark oily residue.

Our products are stored indoors to prevent the rusty patina from forming.  This allows for easier and cleaner transportation and installation.

Natural rust will develop gradually, typically taking a few weeks to several months and will continue to develop and evolve over time.

FormBoss® is stored with the bottom of a piece of edging slipped inside a second piece of edging, forming what looks (when wrapped up) only 1 length. 

All rings and lengths are supplied with matching connectors and screws. Please refer to the product listing for the quantity supplied.

Stakes are sold separately and we recommend purchasing 3 stakes per length

Creating perfectly round rings can be difficult, which is why we offer a rolling service at FormBoss® head office.

Rings 3106mm in diameter (4 lengths) or larger can be rolled on site. For sweeping curves, the edging can generally be shaped by hand to approximately a 1000mm radius.

For tighter curves, we suggested using a yellow tongue strip to make shaping easier. It helps prevent the edging from kinking and allows you to achieve curves down to approximately an 800mm radius.

To use the yellow tongue strip, slide it underneath the rolled top edge of the garden edging. This provides additional support while you shape the length. Once you have achieved the desired curve, simply remove the strip and repeat the process on the next length.

No, the tools required most people will already have. To help install FormBoss® though we do have install kits that come with items that make installing our edging even easier.

The install kit consists of:

• 1.2 kilo Rubber Mallet- which helps with getting stakes into the ground
  NOTE: we do not recommend using a sledge hammer on the garden edging or stakes as you can damage it. If your soil is hard and you are having trouble putting the stakes in the ground we recommend a digging the hole first. 
• Wide Brimmed Vice Grip-  Great for keeping the edging and connector or stake together when screwing.
• Rubber Forming Strip- to assist with curving
• Impact driver or Drill with Tech Screw Bit
• Manual or battery operated rivet gun for profiles heights 230mm or above
• Metal cutting tool if you plan to cut to size, FormBoss® offers lengths cut to size, please contact your nearest stockist for a quote

Burying approximately one-third of the garden edging provides stability, helps retain soil and mulch, reduces movement from ground conditions and gardening activities and creates a clean, defined finish.

FormBoss® recommends the Dulux PROTEXTURE® range, which offers a durable textured finish with strong resistance to scuffs and marks. It is available in 10 colours, including selected Colorbond® colours.

Yes. FormBoss® can colour match to any Dulux colour for specific project requirements. Custom colour-matched finishes may use a different powder formulation and may not provide the same level of durability and resistance as the Dulux PROTEXTURE® range.

Handle products carefully and lift rather than drag them across concrete, gravel or other hard surfaces. Keep products in their packaging until installation and protect the finish from sharp objects, tools and abrasive materials.

Yes. Powder coated edging can be formed into gradual, gentle curves. Avoid tight bends and sharp curves, as excessive bending can cause the coating to crack or deteriorate. For tighter radii, FormBoss® can custom-form edging before powder coating.

Use a rubber mallet rather than striking the powder coated surface with a steel hammer. Where possible, use timber or another protective material between the tool and the finished surface.

Yes, but take care to keep the whipper snipper line from repeatedly contacting the edging. Repeated contact can scratch or wear the powder coating. Where possible, maintain a small gap between the line and the edging.

Rinse off loose dirt and grit, then wash with a soft cloth, sponge or soft-bristled brush using a mild, pH-neutral detergent diluted in warm water rinse thoroughly.

Do not use abrasive scourers, steel wool, harsh chemicals, strong solvents or highly acidic or alkaline cleaners. Avoid high-pressure cleaning at very close range, particularly around edges, joins or damaged areas.

For minor marks, gently clean the area with mild detergent and water. Do not sand, polish or aggressively rub the coating. If a scratch exposes the metal underneath or the coating has been chipped, contact your FormBoss® supplier for advice on the appropriate repair method.

Yes, but take care when positioning them. Lift rather than drag planters across hard surfaces and ensure the location is level, stable and free of sharp debris. Make sure drainage openings remain clear.
